We also use "steam hot" aka: Vicks Vaporizer during sleeping hours. In my experience the vaporizer works much better than a humidifier and it boils out any bacteria, so it is cleaner.
And also chest rub like this one... I have a generic b/c it was cheaper.
Supposedly there are other uses for this chest rub, but we generally stick to the chest or on the feet before donning socks =)
