First Month {San Diego Childbirth Educator, Birth Doula}

I hope you enjoy this. It reminds me of so many of us (when we were in this mommy's shoes and also when we were new, like this baby). - Rosie

Postpartum is a very real stage of childbirth. Postpartum is a season in your and your baby's life that is sometimes surprising. Classes don't prepare you. Many folks are so concerned with getting the baby out, busy preparing for the birth process, they forget about the recovery and the first days of parenthood.

Here's a glace at baby's first month of life. Notice what mom does during this first month, often called the babymoon (like honeymoon). She is nursing and spends hours gazing, looking upon her handiwork. They are falling in love. On your honeymoon you don't take a lot of people. You are the center of eachothers world. So it is with a babymoon. It can be intense, emotional, hormonal, scarey, especially with first baby (I suggest slow deep breathing and slow living). It can also be peaceful, and beautiful, if you get lots of rest, sleep when baby sleeps, eat well, and ask for help (on your honey you had room service). Baby's communicate very well. They pick up on your nervousness, your tenseness, your peace, your love...they are very much still attached.

What a lovely video! Oh Rosie...how I miss those days of sitting, relaxing, nursing, gazing, LOVING...newborns are so amazing. And those hormones released from nursing are A-MA-Zing! What a great blessing in everyone's life, the first few months with baby.
