I never thought I'd be able to say that I was thankful for laundry. But today I am. Actually it's the washing machine and my ability to DO the laundry that I'm grateful for. See our fairly new (5 yrs old) and very expensive, high tech front loading and high efficiency washer broke...a month ago. My handy husband decided to fix it himself. After all, he does know how to do most everything. At least that's what I tell him when I want him to do things for me. So, he figures it out and orders the broken part online. Great! Except the part is on back order and they give us the run around for a month. Or maybe longer. It was so long I lost track. Yesterday it finally came in the mail and he fixed it last night. Praise Jesus! What did I do for that month, you might ask? Yes, I have 3 very small children and one dirty husband who make a whole lot of laundry for this mom. I went to a laundromat twice. First time it cost $31 and the second time $21. The other times I did it at My sister's house, Christy's, Julie's, and 3 times at my in-law's. "Hey, let's BBQ... oh and by the way I brought my laundry. You don't mind right?!" So ghetto. They were all very gracious though =)
TODAY I am grateful that I got to do my laundry at MY house. Especially because of this: 2 toddler beds with pee on them (the sheets were just changed yesterday! argh!), 2 jammies with pee, 1 outfit with pee from the 2 year old who peed in the carseat, 1 carseat cover with pee, 1 pillow with puke, 1 window curtain and changing table cover with puke (the baby did not like his vitamins)...all by 10am. I mean seriously...if it was still broken and that was my morning of dirty laundry I would've FREAKED OUT. But I was able to sing and dance while cleaning up pee and puke. Perspective is everything.
