Dear Family and Friends,
2008 was a year of change in our household. Many new and exciting events occurred. Robin started running for the first time in her life and finished two 5k’s and two cross country 10k’s. She worked hard and lost 20 pounds. Mike ran 20 miles in preparation for a marathon, but after numerous injuries he rediscovered skateboarding. Now he’s injured daily. He did finish the AFC Half Marathon with a spectacular time of 1 hr 23 min. and placed 4th in his division. Jackson turned 3, started pre-school, and potty trained. He can even ride a bike with no training wheels. Owen walked at 10 months, talked at 14 months, and tests our patience daily. Is there such a thing as toddler colic? Our favorite line: “Owen! Why are you crying?” It is a good thing he is SO cute.
We celebrated our 6 year wedding anniversary and went on a 3 day vacation. This was our first time leaving the kids overnight. It was a great adventure! We went sky diving in Perris and scuba diving on Catalina Island. Robin discovered Blogger and now manages several blogs. You are welcome to catch up on our latest adventures at www.robingreenebaker.blogspot.com. She celebrated her 4 year anniversary with Citracado Dental Group and continues to work as a dental hygienist 3-4 days a week. Mike and his partner Rob incorporated. They are the proud and successful owners of NRG Electric, Inc. and have been blessed with plenty of work despite the economic recession.
Jackson loves his role as “big brother” and Owen happily tags along and tries to keep up with his every move. They love to play in the dirt and mud, color, paint, and basically be as messy as possible. They are boys to the core. Thomas the Train took over our house, but watch out - here comes Spiderman! We now have leaping toddlers, jumping from place to place and throwing webs at us. At the end of the day we are so thankful for our sweet boys who love to sing about Jesus. Jackson’s favorite song is “Jesus loves Me” and Owen’s is “Silent Night” and “Rock-a-bye Baby.” They are happily anticipating the addition of another sibling, as we are expecting a baby at the end of June. Every day they “kiss the baby” and watch as mommy’s tummy grows. After shrinking all year, Robin is having a hard time adjusting to this growth phase... but is fervently praying for a girl.
We are looking forward to another great year and look back with gratitude for all the blessings we’ve received. Thank you all for your love, support, and friendship.
God bless and have a very Merry Christmas.
LOVE Mike, Robin, Jackson, & Owen Baker
