Little Man, Big Blessing

I have many many Bibles in my house. Big, small, medium, all different translations, pictures, no pictures, etc. Over the last few weeks Jackson has been attending a Christian Pre-School, and his interest in the Bible has flourished. Much to my hearts delight!

Sunday morning he woke up and came into my bed to snuggle - so we got his Bible and read a few stories. Even Owen joined us and payed attention. It was precious! Just look at the concentration he has while studying the Word in his high chair before breakfast...

He tells me all about the stories and listens intently as I expound on the meaning. And his little prayers are so sweet, with a great big loud AMEN! at the end. So awesome.
Psalm 119:11 "Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You."

Isaiah 40:8 "The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever."

Psalm 1:1-3 "BLESSED is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper."

John 7:37-38 "On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, 'If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water."
When we're done reading, he wants me to sing his favorite song from school, Jesus loves Me. I only knew a few verses so I had to look up the rest =). I found many many versions - I picked this one for toddler ease. Click here to hear the tune.

Jesus loves me! This I know,
For the Bible tells me so;
Little ones to Him belong,
They are weak but He is strong.

Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.

Jesus loves me! He who died,
Heaven's gate to open wide;
He will wash away my sin,
Let His little child come in.

Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.

Jesus loves me! loves me still,
When I'm very weak and ill;
From His shining throne on high,
Comes to watch me where I lie.

Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.

Jesus loves me! He will stay,
Close beside me all the way;
He's prepared a home for me,
And some day His face I'll see.

Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.

So sweet! I love hearing my little guys say amen although I'm sure it's lots less frequent or correctly timed as Jackson:)

When I saw you Children's Bible photo, I had a major flash to the past. My daughter read the same one! I'm enjoying your blog and the "Roman's Road." I can't believe I've never seen that before. God bless you!
