They call her Sally

At the end of April I took the boys to the Escondido Humane Society to see if we could find a kitty to rescue.
We looked at all the cats, but most were pretty old. Since we already have an elderly cat I really wanted a kitten that wasn't set in her ways yet. So we played with the littlest one they had. A black 3 1/2 month old female. We decided she was a keeper and adopted her.
It took awhile for the exam and paperwork to go through so I took my busy guys outside to wait.
After a trip to Walmart to get some essentials, we finally made it home with our new kitty. Jackson did the honors of carrying her inside.
Since you're supposed to keep new animals separate from your current animal (for a week or 2) we set up her toys, food, and bed in the hall bathroom.

Owen was very "tentle" (aka: gentle) while holding her.
Fun part about kittens is that they love to play! Anywhere, anytime.

I didn't tell Mike what I was doing, so when he came home for lunch, we surprised him with the new addition to the family! He has always been taken by little babies and little kitties, so he was excited to meet her.

and finds all kinds of other interesting places to rest

She's like a dog too - follows us wherever we go, wanting to be in the middle of the action.
I got her this crazy cat toy ... that I eventually banished to a drawer. I only let her have it for small increments at a time.

Poor kitty remained nameless for the first month. I came up with about 10 names and they were all shot down. What did they settle on? SALLY. Huh, that's strange. Not really if you're a CARS FANATIC like my boys are.
Sally is the main girl character in the movie...the pretty little Porsche!
She is turning out to be a very well behaved kitty and we're all enjoying her company... well, except Jewels (the 13 yr old cat) - she still hisses at her, but deep down I think she doesn't mind her too much.
