O Christmas Tree...

It was only November and for some reason we got very motivated for Christmas. Must be the fun ages of the boys... or just something wonderful to look forward to after a lot of bad news and strange politics. The day after Thanksgiving was devoted to shopping, but Saturday was free... so we put on our festive colors and got to work (at 7:30am!).

The tree we've used for the last 4 years was inhabited by a rodent this year... Mike thought he could salvage it by vacuuming the debris away - but it was still smelly and way too yucky to bring in the house.
So....off to Walmart we go to get a new tree. What do we need for the occasion?
Christmas music of course!

Mike: do you want that one?
THAT ONE!
NO, THAT ONE!
We settled on a nice little 7 footer w/colored lights.
Dad will have to wait for his dream of chopping down a real tree with his boys.
the boys were superb helpers when we got home
I put up some lights around the living room
and they got out the *BABY PROOF* ornaments... hopefully we only have to use these lovely things a few more years =)
Jackson was a good big brother and explained to Owen what the Angel was
Mike is thinking that it's time to turn off the Christmas music already...
and it's only November 29th!
here daddy
After pulling apart the hanging apparatus a few times, Owen finally got the hang of hanging up the ornaments on the tree
gotta love that 1st trimester bloat
O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree, How lovely are your branches
My favorite time in December is night time in my living room. I turn off all the lights and bask in the glow of the lights

Looks like that was fun! I LOVE that part of this season. The tree and all the decorating really make it feel real.

It is weird for me to see no snow. It is just so a part of me!
